If you must jump through hoops and turn off your internet connections in order to install the super-discounted software, it's very likely to be pirated. You don't get a huge break on the price if you buy from these dealers, but on average, they charge about 15% to 20% less than what the software cost when it was active. These products are genuine because they're sent directly from the developer, (downloaded from the developer’s website) and require at least two codes the developer's assigned key and the dealer's licensed security code. This is not just about Adobe software, but software from numerous developers. As I said, I don't know the intricate details but they can only sell a limited number of the keys and/or discs, which they, themselves, have purchased.

So maybe I should try downloading and installing the latest Photoshop "Trial" version, (if I sign out of Adobe first)? Or do you have another suggestion?Īs for the Acrobat XI Pro software, I don't know the details behind the legal arrangements, but there are legitimate software dealers who buy the licenses of software that has been discontinued.

Like I said, if I let it go, it'll update ". I do have the auto update turned off but the problem is that when I click the "Update" in the Photoshop program, (Help/Updates), it opens the Adobe CC update page. That's the whole idea that prompts me to post for a solution. I want to select a specific program in the Adobe CC subscription and update it as I need to. OK, so that's why I'd like to have full control over the updating process. No one seems to know if that's the solution or not and I'll have to buy Acro XI Pro again to find out. Perhaps I should have installed the Adobe CC before the stand-alone Acro XI Pro. However, I then installed the Adobe CC and my subscription programs.

When I built the new computer and installed Win 10, I then installed my Acrobat XI Pro, which ran fine. Previously, (and when Win 7 was the O/S), my paid plan of Adobe CC was already installed when I purchased and installed Acro XI Pro.

Now, I'm not so confident that it won't do that again. It never even occurred to me that this could have happened back then. I never worried about Adobe CC mixing up my Acrobat version for Acrobat DC when it was installed in a Windows 7 O/S. I'm going to buy that stand-alone version of Acrobat XI Pro again soon and I want to avoid a repeat of the same problem. Anyway, I do remember that it was the "Adobe CC update All Apps" action that caused me to lose Acrobat XI Pro. That all happened in May 5th 2021 and I did try a "repair" or something like that, (I can't recall exactly what I did anymore) but whatever I tried just wasted my time. Somehow, they changed the stand-alone version to Acrobat DC and then said my ".trial period was over", LOL. Adobe CC had no problem with it when it was running on my Windows 7 system. That's because I never bought or installed Acrobat DC.īut I had Acrobat XI Pro, (purchased & installed on 10-24-20). It said that my Adobe CC plan didn't include "Acrobat DC" and they were right. Well, that cost me about $125 because my legally purchased, stand-alone version, of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, was 'overwritten' somehow. The last time I let Adobe update my paid-for, installed, Adobe CC programs, was after I built a new computer from the ground up, which included the motherboard, processors, and even the O/S, (I had Win 7 but changed to Win 10 Pro via a disc installation for the new system build). However, it's not doing anything because I hit the "Cancel" when I see that statement about updating all apps. (Note: This app installs and updates all Adobe creative apps and services.)" "Photoshop is being installed by the Creative Cloud Desktop App. I'm sure this means it'll update Photoshop and Lightroom, (which I rarely use), but if I switch off the Adobe CC auto update, I'm left with the page that says: "Photoshop is now installing." Then below that it says: So far, when I select the "Update" option in Photoshop/Help tab, it opens the Adobe CC and wants to update the Adobe CC. I want to update Only the Photoshop program, nothing else.

I need to update my Photoshop program from 22.4.1 to 22.4.2, (I have Windows 10 Pro as an O/S).
